Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Information Management Teams to rollout and maintain/support the Azure/On-Premises Data Warehouse, SAP, and corporate infrastructure environments.
  • Troubleshooting, problem resolution and issue management for all SQL Server problems and issues.
  • Perform Tuning and Optimization on Azure SQL DB, Azure/on-premises database/server and services.
  • Perform automation, audits, and review
  • Collaborating with development teams to implement solution from development to QA to production.
  • Utilize ITIL based tools and change management processes – promote changes to QA and production.
  • Participate in on-call rotation (Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems).
  • Assisting Bentley’s NOC team to provide monitoring for Azure/On-Premises SQL database environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills

Minimum of 10+ years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment is required. Must have Technical skills/experience in:

 

  • Manage and administer SQL Server databases, monitor system health and performance in Development/QA/Production environments.
  • Hands on Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) for SQL Server (AlwaysOn, Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, Log Shipping).
  • Install, configure, and administer clustered and stand-alone SQL Servers, SQL databases, SQL Agent jobs and alerts, database mail, linked servers, database/server security, and connectivity.
  • In-depth knowledge on database performance optimization, troubleshooting, problem resolution, root cause analysis, issue management.
  • Create and implementing backup/recovery strategy to meet requirements of RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective).
  • Upgrade and migration of databases to new platform/server and maintain consistency between environments.
  • Develop automation for repeatable process.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities
  • Knowledge of SQL Server development areas includes T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and other objects with best practices and adopted standards.
  • Knowledge of ITIL based Change Management tools and processes.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skill.

 

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud data components such as Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage (Blob/Data Lake), Azure migration…
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data-warehousing and tools: Snowflake, ThoughtSpot.
  • Experience with industry standard privacy and SOX related compliances.
  • Microsoft SQL Server version 2008 to current version.
  • Experience on SSIS/SSRS, TSQL, Power Shell Scripting.
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot on SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space issue.
  • Implementing and utilizing supported features with SQL Server like in-Memory, Change Data Capture, DReplay, Query Store, Full Text Indexing, Partitioning, Encryption etc.
  • Develop SSIS Packages, knowledge of Reporting (SSRS) and Analysis Services (SSAS).
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • This role requires infrequent travel to a Bentley office location post COVID.
