Job Description
Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Plant controller to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility. The Plant controller is responsible for provide financial information and direction to facilitate management decision-making in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinate and maintain the accuracy of financial reports. Oversee and maintain capital spending. Perform cost analyses and account analyses, performing reconciliation as required. Support plant cost savings efforts. Coordinate end-of month closing activities. Complete standard reporting requirements for internal management, corporate, or government needs. Directs all accounting activities in accordance with corporate and division policies and procedures. Normally oversees several activity areas such as general accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and payroll. Performs specialized analyses to support complex business decisions by plant management Some activities related with the position will be: Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure proper documentation and adequate funding of accruals through individual account analysis and research of individual transactions. Investigate problem situations related to such accounts. Analyze and maintain fixed assets subsidiary records insuring proper documentation, reporting requirements, fixed tag listings, movement, and disposal of assets with proper documentation and authorization. Coordinate fixed asset audits. Prepare report writers as requested. Complete Cost Models for new products or design changes and capital appropriate requests using the Capital Appropriation Model. Provide guidance to those preparing financial impacts. Coordinate month-end closing activities including the completion of all needed journal entries, the accuracy of journal transaction registers, balancing of inter-company receivables/payables. Prepare profit and loss reports for management review and completion of the final forecast. Control inter-divisional and inter-departmental billing to ensure proper documentation and just cause for such charges to correct account number distribution. Complete standard reporting requirements for divisional, world headquarters and government authorities as required. Manage the purchasing activities consistent with required product quality, supplier reliability, equitable product cost and delivery and using proper control systems. Ensure that all business-related activities are conducted within the guidelines of Eaton Corporation financial policies and procedures and that all internal controls therein adhere Sarbanes Oxley requirements Assist in the development of annual strategic, profit plan, and departmental budgets including establishment of variance reports and completion of special projects. Adhere to and comply with all SOX, ISO 14001/EHS, IATF standards, procedures, and guidelines Manage, train and develop department personnel for future advancement. Provide support to both divisional and plant projects as appropriate. Lead monthly Ops review reporting and preparation of presentation for division. Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe Federal, State, local and company safety and health regulations. Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine. Expected to follow safe working practices, obey rules and regulations, and work in a way that maintains the high safety and health standards developed and sanctioned by the company. Interest will be vocal, visible, and continuous throughout the area of responsibility. Support EHS action plan. Safety performance improvement. Improve MESH deployment. Ensure EHS goals are fully cascaded. See attachment for more details. Demonstrate the application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying his/her Standard Work and other tools. Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs. Implement and optimize Lean Management tools. Sustain the ELLS tools (VSM, 5´s, TMP, STW, Set up, Problem Solving, Materials Management and 6 Sigma) to drive the continuous improvement performance when apply. #LI-MM3 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or a related field Working experience in financial/accounting management of at least five years. Sound working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong MS Office Skills Working knowledge of Oracle, and other related Eaton Financial Systems. Strong communication skills to interface effectively across all levels of the organization. Superior organizational skills required to deal with multiple “high priority” duties Fully bilingual Spanish / English Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of Corporate, Division and Plant reporting policies preferred. (MBA preferred). Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills necessary to motivate and help direct the organization.
