Job Description
Eaton’s Interconnect Technologies Division is currently seeking for a Product Engineer ITD Santiago to join our team. This position is based at our Santiago, Dominican Republic facility. Job Summary Responsible for ensuring successful conclusion of all phases of assigned standard engineering projects within an appropriate time. Investigates / troubleshoots problems and requirements of projects & develops plans for solutions. Coordinate with other departments on assigned tasks and secures / reviews inputs from various stakeholders and make recommendations accordingly. Provides data for team-level measures. They may also act as technical leaders for small projects. Job Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supports Current Product or Product Development project teams or Engineering Services programs and conducts specific low to medium complexity tasks assigned. Executes ACES deliverables within the PROLaunch development process. Leads completion of ACES deliverables. Works individually or as a part of a team and with other engineering or cross-functional disciplines to deliver as per customer needs and expectations. Presents technical information/project status to Eng. Manager. Coordinate the prototype manufacturing of products. Plans and specifies product design requirements. Works with conceptual and detail design of electrical connectors and cable assemblies for the industrial and aerospace markets. Implements design improvements (cost reduction, functional enhancement, and product customization) to existing products. Manages design history folders, Product Lifecycle Management system (ENOVIA) for the various new products, including issuing Engineering Change Orders. Conducts and/or participates in design reviews, innovation summits, and design bursts. Provides technical support to customers, suppliers, and sales team. Participates and/or witnesses testing of products. Participates in failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings. Support product transition activities, including transfer of design authority. Develops of moderated products using 3D CAD with SolidWorks. Coordinate’s testing activities with Engineering and Production test teams. Works with Sales and Marketing to develop new products based on inputs from Strategic Plan SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Moderated product design ability (Both new product & product modification) Has deeper understanding of drawing standards with beginning GD&T application Can create (using 3D CAD tools) surface models, format creation, set modeling and drafting standards, flow model/ surface extraction, and is proficient in various modules such as solid modeling, mold, drawing. Moderated knowledge in engineering report and specification writing Ability to make recommendations on product designs, influence product costs, and capital investments. Participates in technical discussions and presentations for internal and external customers, including design reviews, non-advocate reviews and technical coordination meetings. Thorough knowledge of product applications, product design techniques, engineering processes, and engineering standards. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university, or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of mechanical/Electrical product design experience. Computer knowledge: AutoCAD, MS Office Applications, and Solid Works. Bilingual: English/Spanish.
