About The Role:

Manages a variety of projects to deliver against project goals/deliverables efficiently and effectively. Works on a variety of types of projects and leads the project team in delivering against the overall project objectives. Applies deep project management skills and experience to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence – Delivers a variety of projects on-time, within budget and with high quality resulting in the successful achievement of project objectives.
  • Manages all facets of the project to include: scoping, estimating/sizing, project methodology, planning, resourcing and scheduling, monitoring and controls, communications, and project close. Leads a project team responsible for a variety of work streams. Monitors and controls projects against established project goals, metrics, and KPIs. Takes proactive actions to resolve issues and keep projects on track.
  • Delivers Quality, Value, Results – Uses a variety of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to optimize project quality and profitability.
  • Handles problems before they escalate and/or escalates to the appropriate person in order to resolve in a timely fashion. Identifies opportunities for improvement and helps to implement process enhancements in order to deliver exceptional results.
  • Functional Excellence – Applies project management expertise to identify areas for improvement in methods and processes. Works with management to implement improvements and support change management. Provides advice and guidance to more junior Project Managers/Administrators.
  • Relationship Building – Builds strong working relationships internally and externally that enables project team to work collaboratively and effectively. Develops stakeholder confidence by regularly checking in, assessing satisfaction, and uncovering concerns.

 

Additional Job Specific Responsibilities

PROJECT & PROGRAM MANAGERS IN SALES OPERATIONS

  • In the Sales Operations organization, the Project/Program management roles (PMO) take on specific responsibilities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide operational guidance and leadership to enable large groups of stakeholders to deliver high quality, on-budget, and on-schedule cross-functional programs and services linked to the Key Strategic Objectives of the business.
  • Tracking and successful execution of Key Strategic Objectives and Programs
  • Tracks execution and performance against KPIs, service level agreements and adherence to policies
  • Creates/ensures detailed project, implementation, and/or action plans area created for each project

TEAM LEADERS IN ALL ORGANISATIONS

  • At times, employees may be required to perform various people management responsibilities. The specific responsibilities and the time allocated to each are determined on a case-by-case basis based on business needs.
  • People management responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Administration and Reporting
  • Resource scheduling – arranges back-ups, manages overtime and absences, administrative tasks to manage paid leaves and vacations.
  • Monitoring and reporting on people KPIs – overtime hours, time/utilization status against project codes/tasks.
  • Facilitates local resources – obtains PCs/required equipment, coordinates systems access, arranges desk/office space.

Performance Management

  • Overtime/utilization – monitors overtime/utilization via reports, identifies issues/causes of excessive overtime and takes/recommends corrective action.
  • Goals and objectives – helps to set and/or clarify performance objectives.
  • Feedback and coaching – provides on-going feedback and coaching to improve performance, identifies and addresses/escalates performance issues.
  • Appraisals – provides input on performance review.
  • Learning and Development
  • Learning – identifies required training for new and existing team members, helps to secure learning programs/resources, and coordinates the delivery of on-site and/or virtual learning.
  • Professional Development – provides feedback and suggestions on appropriate developmental activities, coordinates on-the-job development, and facilitates networking and participation in developmental projects.
