Public Relations Manager

What you will be doing:
- Develop communication strategies and public relations programs, leveraging exisiting and building new relationships to support the hotel's revenue goals
- Develop and maintain a local crisis communication program and serve as a member of the core crisis management team
- Write and disseminate press kits, releases, editor's advisories, calendar listings
- Manage all media driven events from plan development, budget management, program flow, and implementation with internals and external stakeholders, ensuring all event deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Advise on marketing and advertising copy, program briefs, providing editing for brand consistency
- Provide writing and editing support to the executive team, such as preparing executive commentary, speeches and key messaging
- Monitor the public environment and perspective, applying insights strategically, and providing solutions should issues arrive that may impact reputation of the Fairmont Pacific Rim
- Pro-actively organize media visits and familiarization trips to targeted media outreach/entertaining as needed
- Extend brand reach by forging and managing non-traditional marketing and media partnerships
- Assist with creation and administration of branded program (provide feasibility and operational perspective)
Your experience and skills include:
- Diploma or degree in Public Relations/Marketing
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in public relations/communication role
- The communications trifecta: excellend written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and detailed-orientated, and above all, a team player
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of delivering on a diverse range of projects, often involving tight deadlines and competing priorities
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HTML
- Proven organizational planning and project management skills
- Digital marketing and social media experience an asset
