Novotel Melbourne Preston is located in the heart of Melbourne’s vibrant inner north, just 20 minutes from Melbourne Airport and the CBD.  Boasting the latest design and bespoke furniture, the hotel is home to a great restaurant, cafe, and the largest conference and events facilities within the Accor portfolio.

We currently have a rare and exciting opportunity for a passionate and highly organised
Sales Coordinator to join our Conference, Events & Sales team.

In this position, you will be reporting into the Conference, Events & Sales Manager and will focus on supporting the team by being the first point of contact for clients with medium to large size conferences and will be assisting in organising the logistics of the event. You will also provide assistance with sales coordination and administration duties to ensure the efficient running of the Conference, Events & Sales department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with clients and hotel departments regarding event organisation and requirements
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and meetings
  • Prepare, organise and run the weekly event order meetings
  • Participate in any relevant local trade shows
  • Understand the key revenue drivers for the hotel and upsell in all instances
  • Coordinate the day-to-day general activities (e.g. special requests, emails, sales and marketing activities)
  • Perform office duties to assist efficiency of department, through maintaining an up to date filing system, circulating relevant industry material and communication

This exciting role will suit someone with a passion for events and looking to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone who is very organised, has a great eye for detail and who can work with people from all levels of seniority and backgrounds. Someone who has spent time in operations (e.g. Food & Beverage) would also be beneficial.
