Job Description
Job Summary The Codes & Standards Manager is responsible for recommending and implementing codes and standards that support HW and SW products portfolio across ET&D (Energy Tranition & Digital) business units. This position reports to ET&D Engineering Director and is responsible for regulatory compliance of both installed base and new product developments through work with regulatory and government agencies, as well as standards committees in EMEA. This position will interface internally mainly with the engineering and business teams in support of overall ET&D division. Job Responsibilities works across ET&D business units to understand strategies and provide advices on new product developments to ensure feasibility with regulatory guidelines and suggests, if necessary, alternate solutions to ensure compliance Interprets relevant standards and test requirements for new and existing products and works to ensure these are available internally or makes recommendations on outside resources works with ET&D validation teams to ensure necessary testing is in place to meet certification and ongoing compliance Actively participates in assessing product concepts and participates in design reviews as required Advises business units and country sales teams on regulatory considerations to ensure compliance in local jurisdictions Supports analysis and response to complaints from outside regarding products conformity and maintains the certificates database for ET&D portfolio Represents ET&D at industry meetings and standards committees to influence the development process of standards and to get information on modifications at a very early stage Write technical papers and present technical seminars to customers, engineers and general audiences Collaborates with Eaton corporate team Qualifications Education level required Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent Years and area of experience required Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in codes and standards, working with 3rd party compliance and/or standards organizations Technical knowledge Deep understanding of product safety regulations, EV and grid codes Knowledge of codes making process including rules and regulations Experience of membership in IEC working group (preferable) Technical knowledge of power converters (UPS, inverters, chargers) Understanding of new product development process Soft skills Ability to clearly articulate plans and influence others Extremely well organized, capable of prioritizing and willing to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strategic thinking, diplomacy and negotiation skills are required Must have excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills; full professional proficiency in English High learning skills #LI-AS1 What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
