Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Senior Program Manager. This role will be based in Raleigh, NC or Moon Township, PA. This position has the flexibility to work remotely. The primary function of the Senior Program Manager will be to manage a diverse portfolio of projects across the Electrical and Industrial Sectors. The ideal candidate has experience working with product teams, is extremely well organized, has a deep awareness of the costs and benefits associated with developing reusable software and design work products and is inherently data driven. In this function you will: Leverage technical and leadership skills to manage varying aspects of a growing portfolio of complex technology projects across a global business. Contribute to the creation of portfolio management processes used to select new projects, report progress of in-flight projects, analyze and report on the economic impact of investments. Assist in establishing clear criteria to prioritize CCIS projects and initiatives. Assist in establishing and maintaining metrics-driven portfolio management processes. Link CCIS projects to product development projects and build interfaces to project management tools used across the organization. Contribute to maximizing the economic impact of CCIS investments based on business opportunity and revenue enablement. Build and maintain dashboards that outline internal and external operational metrics. Build and maintain datasets, scorecards, presentations, or other visualizations, for investment planning and adopter-engagements. Create various reports by investment type and present to various stakeholders in the organization. Assist in maintaining a CCIS-wide view of capacity versus profit plan versus prioritized work items and assist with what-if scenario planning. Work closely with Leadership, Delivery Managers, Engineering Leads, Architects, Designers, and others who are responsible for the development of CCIS platforms and services. Assist in working with the Eaton Business System Team and the VP of Program Management to contribute to the refinement of Eaton’s stage-gate process to revise content and governance associated with CCIS interests. Assist in working with the VP of Program Management to help define software-specific project management best practices. Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Management or Portfolio Management or a related role in a software development or design organization. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred qualifications: Direct experience developing data-driven visualizations using PowerBI. Experience working in an agile software development environment. Experience selecting or developing tools to manage portfolio metrics including automation. Experience with modern IoT and edge applications. Experience and exposure to Design Thinking tools and methodologies. Position Criteria: Proven track record of effectively managing and optimizing economic impact of development projects Desire to use modern tools and methods for managing metrics and dashboards such as PowerBI, Excel, Atlassian Jira and linking data between them and other data sets. Ability to work independently to achieve desired results with minimal team overhead. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation. Highly detail-oriented. Ability to prioritize competing tasks. Team management skills. Savvy with digital tools. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
