Job Description
Job Summary Own and lead the execution of the daily, monthly, and annual reporting, planning, compliance and financial analysis processed while supporting the controller and senior non-financial plant leadership through business partnering. Job Responsibilities Leads month-end closing process including preparation and review of monthly journal entries, financial statements, and variance & reporting packages. Assist in preparation monthly rolling forecast, including full P&L and balance sheet, as well as monthly bridges. Support key business planning cycles including annual Profit Plan, Strategic Plan, and non-financial planning. Lead, coach, and mentor junior accounting members through example and formal tools including annual goal setting, development plans, and tracking progress through TalentHub. Ensure adherence to compliance of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley standards, support internal and external audits, the timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations, and perform their first level review. Support cost accounting and analysis through BOM audits, annual cost roll & burden rate review, and leadership of physical inventory. Drive continuous improvement mindset through team and department by ongoing improvement of new and existing financial process. Develop non-financial managers financial acumen through business partnering and translation of action into financial results. Develops other financial analysis and processes as needed, including supporting Division and Senior Management requests. Is the acting financial lead when the controller is out of the facility. Qualifications Education level required Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited institution. Years and area of experience required Minimum 4-7 years in related developmental roles including 2 years in a manufacturing environment. Technical knowledge Strong manufacturing accounting background and solid understanding of financial accounting systems. Technical capability to prepare, review, and interpret financial and operations data/reports. Solid working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Working knowledge of pronouncements of external regulatory bodies, such as Financial Accounting Standards Board, SEC, IRS, etc. Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge. English & Spanish languages (written and spoken). Soft Skills Ability to teach, train, and develop personnel in accounting department.
