Purchasing Supervisor
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Supervises assigned personnel, counsels and develops each employee to their full potential.
- Reviews requisitions.
- Obtains information concerning product, price, and ability, of vendor to produce product or service, and delivery date.
- Selects purchase items by testing, observing, or otherwise examining.
- Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
- Reviews produce and products received from vendors to insure order was handled correctly.
- Keeps records pertaining to items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories.
- Discusses defects of purchased goods with quality control or inspection personnel to determine source of trouble and takes corrective action.
- Supervises in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
- Supervises in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Coordinates activities with other departments.
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous experience is an asset
- Think logically to make decisions
- Interpret information in mathematical, written and diagram form, such as statistical reports and financial statements.
- Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: compute discount, interest, ratio and proportion, and percentages. Calculate weights and measures.
- Continually make decisions based on experience and personal feelings as well as on facts and figures.
- Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals.
- Speak and write clearly.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Lifting 50 lbs maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
