Job Description

Come and join us. Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join the Switch and Fabric Group (XFG) in our Network and Edge Group (NEX) as a Systems Administrator. We're part of the Connectivity Group (CG) in Intel's NEX, and are looking for motivated, passionate and talented software engineers to join our Networking Applications development team for programmable high-speed switching ASICs. We're a strong, vibrant, cross-site team that helps drive Intel's programmable switching technology and products to position Intel® Tofino™ as the switching platform of choice for Cloud and Data Center network deployments.

We are looking for an experienced, talented, and enthusiastic Systems Administrator (Lab Focus) in San Jose, California. This is an onsite position providing support for multiple development teams: Hardware, Software, ASIC, QA, product marketing, customer engineering.


You will share responsibility, but not limited to the HW/SW labs, including ensuring lab readiness, lab governance compliance, lab network compliance, equipment and rework shipping and receiving.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Installation, configuration, and management of Lab related infrastructure.

* PDU's, Switches, mix of Physical, Virtual Environments, Unix/Linux and a small amount of Windows OS.
* Configure and maintain IP Subnets, DNS, DHCP and Authentication services.
* Working experience with PXE Boot and Kickstart OS Install automation, Monitoring Tools for system availability, capacity planning and alerting.
* Work with the greater IT organization and our Engineering teams to help resolve issues with non-lab compute jobs and storage allocations in a timely manner.
* Work with and collaborate across different business units to deploy systems/services and trouble shoot issues as required.
* Create and maintain documentation as required.
* Lab Infrastructure related upgrades, security patching, changes and enhancements.
* Lab Asset Inventory Management, shipping and receiving, as well as Racking/Stacking equipment.


Qualifications

Education Requirement:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 4+ years of industry work experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years of working experience with Unix/Linux/Windows systems.
* 5+ years of working experience with DHCP, DNS and NIS/Ldap.
* 2+ years of experience in scripting, Automation and Configuration tools (SaltStack preferred, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, PXE, Kickstart.)
