Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Santa Ana, CA facility. Relocation assistance will not be provided. Position Overview: This position ensures ownership of quality across all manufacturing areas to reduce errors, increase quality performance and reduce cost of non-conformance by leading the greater quality team for the Santa Ana facility as an operations leadership team member. In this function you will: Coach, develop and mentor an hourly and salary workforce of quality inspectors, analysts and engineers to meet quality objectives: maximize quality production, adhere to product standards, support error resolution and root cause analysis, relay customer quality alerts, customer communications, and other critical quality performance elements. Foster a culture of quality ownership across the greater Santa Ana workforce and cross-functional teams, driving world class quality processes and performance through influence, excellent communications and leadership across multiple functions. Serve as a member of the senior plant leadership team by participating in plantwide leadership communications, multifunctional events and planning, acting on behalf of the plant manager and representing the interests of the organization’s objectives. Champion continuous product and process improvement efforts that promote organizational goals, philosophies and quality policies through the implementation of Quality assurance methods, Eaton’s Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), OpA, statistical process control (SPC) Eaton Business System (EBS), six sigma, and other lean planning tools. Lead plantwide communications, improvement events, data tracking / analysis and reporting, projects regarding customer quality management, cost of non-conformance, and other quality measurements including tracking, action planning, status communications and other program management activities. Ensure excellence in supplier quality through root cause / deviation analysis, supplier partnerships and improvement tracking, and other supplier quality activities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing organization Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, quality management or business 3-5 years-experience in management of quality assurance, methods, systems in electrical, electronics, power systems or other related fields 2+ years in a supervisor/manager type role 3-5 years-experience in continuous improvement Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certifications CQM or CQE certifications Position Criteria: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods (Six Sigma, 8D, etc), goal setting, and performance tracking Strong leadership and communication skills Strong Six Sigma process improvement knowledge and experience Effective communication and team leadership skills are essential.
