Job Description

The Category Manager Role is within the HR and Professional Services Sourcing (HPSS) Team as part of the Corporate Strategic Procurement (CSP) Organization.

The role will focus on HR Mobility (Relocation and Travel) spending categories and include responsibilities such as developing and maintaining a category strategy, commercial contract negotiations, supplier management and stakeholder partnerships. The Category Manager will be expected to develop an expertise within their respective category(s), through benchmarking, industry analysis, and relationships with subject matter experts while leveraging existing supply chain experience to deliver new value for Intel.

As the Category Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the overall category strategy, including influencing and aligning with the key business partners across the enterprise balance/influence internal customer needs with corporate business goals.

  • Work effectively with internal customers to understand their business and technical requirements and convey those requirements to potential and existing suppliers as well as into the overall category strategy.

  • Execute supplier commercial engagements, including supplier selection, negotiation plans, contract negotiations, and ongoing execution/maintenance of the agreements.

  • Supplier Management: Develop and execute supplier governance, report cards, create and implement overall continuous improvement plans, drive supplier review meetings at necessary levels (SBR/MRM/ERM), develop and drive strategies with your top suppliers, and overall quality management.

  • Drive results tied to overall Global Supply Chain Operations (GSCO) and Corporate Strategic Procurement (CSP) objectives including Cost/Affordability goals, Environmental Social Governance, Supplier Optimization Strategies and Uncovering New Value.

  • Communication skills, expertise to ramp quickly on new initiatives. Leadership, influencing, planning contract negotiations, teamwork skills while delivering results. Communication skills to provide information to all levels of management and across diverse global cross-functional teams.

  • Willingness to work within a highly ambiguous environment to identify solutions best for Intel.

  • Expertise to influence stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.

  • Skills to work effectively in a global, multicultural team environment and expertise to support multiple concurrent projects/activities.

  • Data analytic skills in order to drive business decision, excellent problem solving skills and expertise to present in a clear concise manner.

  • Passion for learning and for applying innovative negotiation and contracting techniques.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess at least one of the 2 following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.

Relevant experience mentioned for both degrees should be in: business/supply chain/sourcing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced education or certification in Supply Chain Management is recommended.

  • Prior knowledge developing and executing global category strategies, supplier management and supply chain expertise.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
