Job Description

Main Purpose of Job 

  • All aspects of managing large projects and projects for strategic clients
  • All aspects of managing medium-sized and/or large accounts
  • Account management
  • Communication with senior level client contacts
  • Management of all types of localisation projects including doc, software, firmware, web, help and multimedia with a need for applied methodology, process and planning
  • Identifying solutions and integrating them into accounts
  • Retaining primary client interface on projects managed by Senior Project Managers and below
  • Achieving repeat business and annual growth from managed clients
  • Working with sales towards the winning and development of new business
  • Deputising for Program Manager and above
  • Line management responsibilities for Senior Project Managers and below, as assigned 
      

Scope of Job

Main Duties  

  • Analysis and preparation of estimates and proposals for existing and potential clients
  • Project set-up and implementation of best methodology and process
  • Preparation and maintenance of all internal and external project and account documentation, including status reports, schedules, process documents and reports
  • Effective verbal and written communication with team members, freelancers, local offices and clients
  • Hosting and leading conference calls and meetings with existing and potential clients
  • Holding project team meetings and calls, and compiling and distributing minutes
  • Liaison with clients on all project-related issues, including the process, progress and financial status of their projects
  • Ensuring responsiveness to clients
  • Storage, filing and archiving of all project-related materials
  • Close financial monitoring of projects by accurate and timely completion of budgets, invoicing and change orders
  • Implementation of SDL processes
  • Risk assessment and strategic planning to minimise potential issues
  • Early escalation of issues and concerns
  • Monitoring, mentoring and motivation of assigned Senior Project Managers and below
  • Training and development of new and junior members of team
  • Completion of performance reviews for direct reports
  • Being a point of escalation for project and client issues
  • Identification of project process improvements and implementation or escalation of such
  • Identification and implementation of ‘value-added’ services to clients
  • Production and coordination of reports on I18N and/or solution integration
  • Working with the Program Manager, Divisional Director and Group Program Manager towards continued process improvements and development of the project management group within the division
  • Effective time management
  • Maintaining an awareness of industry developments

Skills and Experience

Essential
 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing large, complex localisation projects
  • Advanced knowledge of localisation processes and tools
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced level of knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • University degree or equivalent

 
Desirable
 

  • Managerial experience
  • Knowledge of I18N, multimedia and workflow processes and tools
