Job Description
The Marketing Assistant will report to the Director of PR and support the corporate marketing team. The role will assist in all PR activities, corporate website updates, events and webinars. Interacting with different people in the company, understanding internal systems and assisting with the various activities within corporate marketing will be important in this role.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with press materials, liaising with internal stakeholders and ensure delivery of materials on time and to the highest quality
· Draft and edit copy for news releases, fact sheets, by-lines, opinion articles etc.
· Manage the localisation of press releases for global markets
· Manage editorial calendar of press release and external comms activities for SDL
· Coordination of PR opportunities for SDL spokespersons including: media interviews, press roundtable events and press tours
· Build relationships with key journalists and bloggers for the different markets
· Enter submissions for company awards
· Organize and build the corporate public relations library including clippings and coverage boards
· Help with ad hoc corporate marketing activity, such as the annual Christmas card and game
· Support the corporate marketing team with website updates
· Help execute marketing initiatives and events for the corporate marketing team
Performance Measures:
· Attention to detail and quality of written communications
· Attention to deadlines and successful negotiating various stakeholders.
· Increased journalist and blogger relationships
· Successful contribution to events and webinars
Skills:
This role would suit an enthusiastic and organized individual who may have already had some involvement in marketing or may be a new graduate and who would like to build a career in marketing. Key skills involve being a good communicator, being well organised and being motivated to learn on the job.
• Must have ability to stick to timelines and ensure that all activities are on time
• Ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines with multiple, concurrent deliverables
• Hands on attention to detail
• Excellent English written and spoken skills
• Good organisational skills
• Strong inter-personal skills and an articulate communicator
• Demonstrated ability to plan, communicate effectively, and develop and maintain effective relationships
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to learn and understand the functionality of the products, how they work and what benefits they provide
• Fluency in at least one other language to your native tongue is helpful
• Good analytical skills
