Eaton’s Electrical CRDS Wiring Devices Division is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team. This position is based at the Peachtree City, GA facility. Relocation assistance is offered for this role. Position Overview: The Wiring Devices Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of product engineering within the Wiring Device product line. This role will have overall responsibility for developing new products, cost out through design (VAVE) and sustaining engineering on existing product lines. This position is accountable for meeting new product revenue and vitality targets, cost out savings via redesign (VAVE) and supporting the maintenance of existing products including material substitutions, design quality improvements and codes and standards changes. Essential functions include: Work with product management to set the product roadmap and waterline strategy to grow the business with winning new products and technologies. Work with CRDS Director of Innovation to maintain and refine a 5-year technology roadmap. Directly oversee engineering functions across WD and ensures we have the right skillsets to meet our objectives. Attracts and retains a talented, diverse engineering team. Own VAVE (cost out by design) target setting, execution and continuous deck building for WD. Sustain all product lines overseeing Product Line Support (PLS) teams. Ensure we have technical oversight and approvals for material substitutions, new supplier and new factory qualifications, codes and standards changes, quality and yield excursions and general technical product support for sales, marketing, and operations. Keep current on changing technologies and best practices. Particularly Energy Transition trends, IoT/digital technology, power electronics, codes and standards for electrical safety and additive manufacturing. Work with the Program Management function to execute detailed project schedules incorporating resource management, milestone deliverables, and administration of Prelaunch and PROLaunch projects. Work with CRDS Engineering staff to continuously improve and standardize our use of Eaton Business System engineering elements (PROLaunch, Prelaunch, DFSS, Portfolio Management and Technology Roadmaps) across CRDS product lines. Develop and oversee advanced technology programs with Eaton Research Labs. Coordinate work across global design centers for WD in; Atlanta; Shanghai, CN; Pune, IN. Manage R&D expense and Capital spending for WD. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum twelve (12) years engineering experience Minimum five (5) years new product development experience Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing product engineering direct reports Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Computer Engineering. Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, physics, mathematics or computer science. Deep understanding of the physics of electricity, power distribution, UL safety standards. Advanced proficiency in software, cloud, firmware, electronics, and application development. Business-savvy, team player working collaboratively with all functions achieve the WD goals Communicates an inspiring vision of the future across the organization.
