Job Description
Responsible to plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operations to ensure the company fulfills its mission of delivering quality products on a timely schedule, while meeting efficiency and productivity objectives. Grant direction to production team and creates the right network and collaboration relationship with other departments such as EHS, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Process improvement, HR and Finance and others to facilitate the production flow, and achieve goals established for the period. A. Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets. B. Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas. C. Forecasting the requirements of the production in order to achieve the production target. D. Initiative plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations. E. Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Eaton’s strategic initiatives. F. Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving. G. Minimizing ‘throughput time’ and ‘work in process inventory’. H. Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies. I. Reducing the quality cost with the help of analysis of non-conformances on periodic basis and also by following suitable actions (both corrective and preventive). J. Building team spirit among the workmen and also motivating by means of personal involvement. K. Improving the productivity level of the workers on continuous basis by workmen’s training and by bringing into use the standards of the performance derived from work measurement studies etc. L. Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts. M. To respond to special work requests of the Plant Manager, Business Unit Manager and other Departments. N. To coordinate all projects under the scope of responsibilities of the position in order to guarantee satisfactory implementation and deployment O. To establish a continuous improvement culture and promote lean activities. P. To deploy EBS specifically in its Operational Excellence component. Q. To assure productivity targets are met. R. Directs and mentors the team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with the Eaton Leadership model. S. Maintain and maximize the utilization of the corporate assets of plant building and grounds, machine tools, process equipment, T. Coordinate all maintenance activities required to keep production equipment and facilities at the proper conditions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business. MBA Preferred. CPIM desired A minimum of 5 years equivalent experience in similar roles with progressive levels of responsibility in manufacturing, engineering. Working knowledge of current manufacturing, engineering, project management and quality assurance methods and practices. Manufacturing Engineering (including M&I flow, Standard Operations, plant layout, waste elimination, continuous improvement, engineering change control).A thorough understanding of manufacturing and financial KPI. Experience in Industry 4.0 and/or process automation is preffered." English and Spanish language capability required. PC literate with MS Office 365 including Power Apps. Experience working with ERP (Oracle/SAP)." Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills. Strong leadership, motivational, & interpersonal skills. The position requires excellent communications and employee relations skills, the ability to lead and motivate subordinates. Ability to effectively communicate ideas, concepts, and programs to all levels of the organization providing “leadership” to employees in a constantly changing environment. Hands-on mentality. Ability to create and maintain relationships with customers and supplier at all levels of their respective organizations Decision making, sound business judgment. Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience in a High Mix-Low Volume environment Desired experience in Green or Black Belt, metal mechanical processes, personnel management, Lean manufacturing, ISO 14000, ISO 9000 – 2000 as well as safety and health. Quality management / delivering Customer requirements Strong problem solving skills (containment & counter-measure). and analytical skills. Change Agent.
