This high impact role is involved with the design and development of cable accessories products. This Engineering technician position is dedicated to New Product Development. In this role, creativity and innovation are focused on developing new electrical and electro-mechanical product solutions for application on electrical power systems. This position works directly with a broad set of technologies involving polymer materials, molding elastomers and plastics, assembly, painting, castings, metal fabrications, metal alloys, and circuit interruption. Assignments range in scope from fabricating and transporting prototype parts to organizing key initiatives in the R&D workshop and able to perform incoming quality inspections/ tests. This role is a key contributor to cross functional project teams that push concepts through a formal project process. Primary duties include: Prototyping, Test Preparation/ Execution and Engineering Product Builds, Perform Product Teardowns, Work Safety/ Training, and Workshop Improvements. Job Responsibilities Develop work processes and durations for completing assigned project tasks with the ability to identify critical dependencies and risks. Creatively and efficiently solve testing challenges by understanding the elements and following protocol instructions. Develop instructions based upon any new tools or processes used in the workshop. Ability to translate internal and external testing requirements into measurable performance criteria, as well as being able to identify and resolve poorly defined or missing requirements. Support to engineering team to prototype builds to provide improvements and process recommendations. Train line operators on any manufacturing processes once they have been validated. Support in doing incoming quality inspections or measurements/ tests using various quality tools. Provide timely, accurate, and pertinent information and reports as required by management. Effectively follows instructions to deliver requirements meeting schedule, cost, and quality targets. Constantly looks for ways to improve processes, products and services. Demonstrated strong coordination and communication skills with peers, engineering and management. Travel up to 5% may be required. Flexible working hours. #LI-ZK1 Qualifications Are you? Required: Mechanical/Electrical Technical Education Faculty of Universities or Technical High Schools 2-5 years of experience Experience with engineering related projects Experience of tooling process Experience coordinating the operation and organization of R&D workshop Angle grinder usage ability Basic electrical knowledge/ efficiency improves processes, products and services Experience in assembly / multipart assembly Reading of technical drawing Reporting of test results Knowledge on quality tools, inspections, measurement, testing Intermediate level Microsoft office software (excel&word&outlook) Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a positive attitude Strong organization skills Strong interpersonal skills involving the ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally Strong observational skills and effective communication.
