Job Description

Course related

Maintaining a safe learning environment;
Keeping abreast of current IB publications and reviewing their planning regularly to incorporate developments in the Programme;
Implantation of teaching in accordance with the course syllabus;
Encouraging students to explore knowledge, promoting positive thinking, and being able to use different teaching methods;
Acting as role models as outlined in the IB learner profile for students;

Student management related

Praising and encouraging good practice, and behavior;
Stablishing clear and consistent rules and enforcing strictly;
Providing opportunities for students to participate in, and reflect on, the assessment of their work;
Promoting the students’ understanding and practice of academic honesty;
Actively using various assessment tools and strategies;
Assessment must comply with the criteria and characteristics of the subject;

Responsibilities related

Attending subject group meetings and active participation in discussions;
Completing tasks assigned by the school/department/subject group, correcting homework, exams, and uploading scores and commenting on time;
Active participation in demo lessons, and reflection meeting organized by the department/subject group;
Active participation in co/extra-curricular activities;
Contribution to curriculum in terms of lesson plans, and resources development;

Requirements

Native level English speaker or Chinses bilingual speaker;
Bachelor's degree or above;
Degree in Education or holding a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate;
Minimum two years teaching experience in HK or Macao preferred (with references);
Experience with the IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum;
Clear criminal background check;
Licensed Teacher preferred;

Salary & Benefits

Base salary 25,000 to 32,000 RMB (before tax) per month based on experience and qualifications;
Free accommodation or housing allowance 4,000 RMB before tax per month;
Work visa provided;
Commercial insurance provided;
Flight reimbursement 10,000 RMB available upon contract completion;
Contract renewal bonus: one month salary;
Holidays:
- All Chinese statutory holidays
- Around 30 days Winter holiday with full pay and full housing allowance
- Around 40 days Summer holiday with full pay and full housing allowance
