#### Position Description:


Component Engineer for Logic device/BMC/retimer/LOM

Seeking an individual who can drive component selection, qualification and
usage on a design and/or component category. You will work closely with a
cross functional team of electrical and mechanical engineers, manufacturing,
contract manufactures and component vendors to facilitate component
implementation based on the product design, quality and supply requirements.

 •    Support Design Engineer to identify cable/connectors/socket parts
 •    Generate specifications for new custom parts
 •    Develop and execute component evaluation, acceptance and qualification
test plans
 •    Review vendors report and perform components validation testing
 •    Identify critical and high risk components in products. Develop and
execute test plans for these components
 •    Work with cross-functional teams to qualify the 2nd sources for material
availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement
 •    Review and follow up the PCN (Product Change Notices) from vendors
 •    Review vendor component roadmaps on a regular basis and serve as the
Lenovo focal point.  Proactively identify and drive solutions to resolve End-
of-life (EOL) and obsolete situations and minimize impacts
 •    Understand component technology roadmaps/trends
 •    Maintain and manage component database
 •    Maintain and manage component usage database across Lenovo products.

#### Position Requirements:


•    5+ years experience in a similar role
 •    Bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related field
 •    Experience with gathering requirements and providing specifications
 •    Experience with characterizing and selecting components
 •    Experience with ME CAD and Layout ECAD tools
 •    Experience with Environmental and Safety standards, e.g. WEEE, RoHS and
REACH

Preferred
 •    7+ years experience in a similar role
 •    Master degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field
 •    Knowledge of Green international standard and component safety
requirements
