Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Associate to join our team, focusing on expanding our presence and impact within Cambodia's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving the adoption of our TVET solutions to address the evolving skill demands in Cambodia. This role requires a strong understanding of the Cambodian education landscape, particularly TVET, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for workforce development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research and Opportunity Identification:
•Conduct in-depth market research and analysis of the TVET sector in Cambodia, including current trends, emerging skill demands (e.g., in manufacturing, construction, ICT, green economy, agro-processing), government policies (e.g., TVET 1.5M initiative), and competitive landscape.
•Identify and qualify new business opportunities for our TVET programs and services, aligning with the needs of industries, government initiatives, and educational institutions.
•Analyze data to assess skill gaps and provide evidence-based insights to inform strategic decision-making.

2. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:
•Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Cambodian TVET ecosystem, including government ministries (e.g., Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training), TVET institutions, private sector companies, industry associations, NGOs, and development partners.
•Actively network at industry events, conferences, and workshops to build connections and promote our offerings.
•Understand the unique needs and challenges of different stakeholders to tailor compelling solutions.

3. Business Development and Sales:
•Lead the entire business development lifecycle, from lead generation and prospecting to proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals.
•Present, promote, and sell our TVET products, programs, and services to prospective clients and partners.
•Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., program development, marketing) to ensure effective delivery and alignment of solutions with client requirements.
•Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
•Support the development of proposals, presentations, and other sales collateral.
4. Partnership Management:
•Identify and foster strategic partnerships with local organizations, training providers, and industry players to enhance our reach and impact.
•Collaborate with partners to design and implement relevant and responsive TVET curricula and training programs.
•Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

5. Reporting and Analysis:
•Maintain detailed and accurate records of all business development activities in CRM tools.
•Prepare regular reports on sales, revenue, market trends, and pipeline forecasts.
•Analyze outreach performance and refine strategies for better conversion and success rates.
•Provide timely updates on progress, challenges, and achievements to senior management.

Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, International Development, or a related field. A Master's degree or a specialization in Technical and Vocational Education and Training Management is a strong plus.

•Experience:
1) Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in business development or a similar client-facing role, preferably within the education or skills development sector, with a focus on TVET.
2) Demonstrated understanding of the Cambodian TVET landscape, including its challenges and opportunities.
3) Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government, private sector, and educational institutions in Cambodia.
4) Track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

•Skills:
1) Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify market trends, forecast long-term goals, and develop effective strategies.
2) Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Khmer (essential). Proficiency in other regional languages (e.g., Chinese) is a plus. Ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
3) Negotiation: Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to secure favorable agreements.
4) Networking & Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
5) Market Research & Data Analysis: Proficient in conducting market research, analyzing data, and drawing actionable insights.
6) Sales Acumen: Strong understanding of sales techniques, lead generation, and pipeline management.
7) CRM Proficiency: Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for managing client interactions and data.
8) Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively, ensuring timely execution.
9) Problem-Solving: Proactive and strategic approach to identifying challenges and developing solutions.
10) Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
11) Results-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve targets.
12) Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and independently.
13) Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrated sensitivity to the socio-economic context and cultural nuances of Cambodia.
