Job Description & Summary
A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.
Responsibilities
- Embedded value and appraisal valuations
- Certifying actuary roles for statutory returns
- IFRS17 and USGAAP reporting
- Financial modelling work including valuation, EV, ALM, MCEV, pricing, etc.
- Insurance consulting work including business plan, capital allocation and management information system design
- Participate in traditional actuarial projects such as valuation, pricing, financial reports.
- Participate in non-traditional actuarial projects such as solvency and capital management, risk qualification, data analytics.
Requirement
- University education or above
- At least 1 year's experience in life insurance company or actuarial consulting firm
- Skilled user of at least one type of actuarial software, preferably Moses, Prophet or Axis
- Good performer in Actuarial professional exams, ASA will be a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent English and Mandarin speaking is a must
- Good influencing skills and leadership potential
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
- Well organized and a team player.
