Start Date: Early March 2026
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced A-Level Academic Director to lead and oversee the IGCSE and A-Level academic programmes within our Senior School. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of teaching excellence, curriculum delivery, and student achievement. The successful candidate will provide pedagogical direction, drive academic innovation, and foster an environment conducive to outstanding educational outcomes. Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a significant advantage, as it supports our school’s broader academic ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide overall academic leadership and management for the IGCSE and A-Level programmes.
Ensure rigorous curriculum development, implementation, and review aligned with examination board standards and best international practices.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Senior School faculty to achieve teaching excellence and continuous professional development.
Monitor and analyse student performance data to implement strategies for improvement and ensure outstanding student outcomes.
Oversee the quality assurance of teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-departmental heads to advance the school’s strategic educational goals.
Manage resources effectively to support the academic programme.
Engage with parents, students, and the wider community regarding academic matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
Substantial teaching and leadership experience within a reputable international school setting, specifically with IGCSE and A-Level programmes.
Proven track record of elevating academic standards and student achievement.
Strong understanding of curriculum design, pedagogical innovation, and educational assessment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with the IBDP curriculum is highly desirable.
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual Salary Range: RMB 550,000 – 600,000
Housing allowance or provision
