MAIN PURPOSE
⚫ Carry out the duties of a school teacher
⚫ Promote the Vision, Values and Expectations of Lucton Chongqing
⚫ Secure high quality student outcomes within the ICT/Computer Science department
⚫ Maintain good standards of planning, preparation and assessment
⚫ Ensure that personal standards of teaching are consistently high
⚫ Play a full and active role within the subject area
⚫ Comply with all whole school policies and procedures.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or
related education major
• A recognised teaching qualification highly desirable
• Fluent English required
PREFERRED APTITUDES
• Display excellence in Computer Science teaching.
• Prior experience of working with Chinese/ESL learners
preferred.
• Be able to assess pupils’ interests, needs and developments.
• Be able to develop curriculum.
• Display the Lucton Values.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure, priorities tasks and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
• Excellent professionalism and teamwork awareness, strong sense of responsibility, kindness and sincerity, serious and responsible, Excellent communication skills.
• Cross-cultural working experience is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 2 years working experience in teaching Computer Science in high performing schools.
• IG and A Level experience essential.
• International school working experience is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The post holder will be required to exercise her/his professional skills and judgement to carry out, in a collaborative manner, the professional duties set out below:
1. Curriculum provision and development
• Contribute to curriculum development within the department
• Produce schemes of work and lesson plans, as appropriate
• Keep up to date with developments in the subject (including research/inspection findings); classroom management and
pedagogy to encourage good practice
• Liaise with the Head of Academics regarding links with relevant examination and validating bodies.
2. Raising standards
• Make full use of assessment data to produce personal student targets and ensure these are reviewed on a regular basis
• Contribute to the subject area’s programme of enrichment activities (e.g., booster classes; visits; special events)
• Contribute to the establishment of common standards of good practice and to the development of effective teaching and learning within the subject area
• Comply with the whole school assessment and reporting procedure.
3. Communications
• Represent the department within the school
• Ensure reports to parents/carers are produced to a high standard and meet the agreed timescales
• Ensure effective communication as appropriate with parents/carers and relevant external bodies.
4. Personnel
• Participate fully in performance management and to act as appraiser, if necessary, for identified staff within the subject area in line with school/academy policy
• Ensure the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support
• Participate in the school’s ICT programme.
5. Promotion
• Contribute to departmental and school promotional activities and events
• Contribute to the development of effective subject links with partner schools and the wider community.
6. Management of Resources
• Manage the computer science resources within the designated area, as agreed with the line manager.
7. Pastoral Responsibilities
• Act as form tutor and carry out the duties associated with the role including supporting the department in meetings.
8. Health and Safety
• Carry out his/her duties with full regard to the School’s health and safety policy and procedures.
9. Additional Duties
• Contribute to the life of Lucton Chongqing and to support its vision, values, expectations and policies.
• Actively engage in performance management and continuing professional development activities.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Head Academics.
BENEFIT
Salary:19,000rmb-38,000rmb (Depend on teaching experience)
Housing allowance: 3,000 RMB/month(single teacher or have one kid), 3,500 RMB/month(have spouse but not working in school), 4,000 RMB/month(Teaching couple/ Teacher has family)

Flight allowance: up to 10,000 RMB/ year
Full payment in summer and winter break
5 nights hotel reimbursement when relocation in Chongqing(up to 1500RMB in total)
