Mathematics Teacher (A Level / IB Diploma Programme)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to teach A Level and IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Mathematics at an international school in Shanghai.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative mathematics department delivering high-quality teaching to students preparing for international university entry.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching **A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and/or IB Diploma Programme Mathematics (Analysis & Approaches / Applications & Interpretation).
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that support strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
• Preparing students for external examinations and supporting their academic progress.
• Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Contributing to curriculum development within the mathematics department.
• Participating in departmental meetings, moderation, and professional development activities.
• Supporting students with university preparation where appropriate.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school through pastoral responsibilities or extracurricular activities.
• Maintaining clear communication with students, colleagues and parents regarding academic progress.

## Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching A Level Mathematics and/or IB Diploma Programme Mathematics.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to support high-achieving students.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to high academic standards and student development.

Desirable:

• Experience teaching Further Mathematics and IB Higher Level Mathematics.
• Experience working in an international school environment.
• Familiarity with UK or international curricula.
