WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Accounting Manager role based out of our Vietnam facility will play a critical role ensuring accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results and financial performance.  In addition, they will play a key role in the maintaining and creating processes and documentation for statutory recording and reporting.  An excellent communicator (verbal and written) is a crucial attribute to communicate with local contacts as well as our World Headquarters (WHQ) teammates and business contacts.  We are looking for a self-starter with new ideas to enhance our team. 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

• Plan, coordinate and participate in all controlling functions, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and generally accepted accounting procedures.

• Participate in month, quarter and year end close processes for VAS and US GAAP purposes.

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to close schedule. 

• Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.

• Responsible for managing Tax activities, reporting and audits.

• Review financial results with business leadership and advise on financial implications of business decisions.

• Be a trusted business partner and collaborative across teams and functions.

• Support routine maintenance and projects in SAP system.

• Maintain and drive continuous improvement on owned processes to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness.

• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.

• Coordinate with local & regional Controlling and Tax teams to align on Nike’s accounting policies, reviews & status updates. 

• Support of major plant initiatives and providing technical expertise.

• Ad hoc support of plant.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will support and work with the Global Controlling, Global Finance, Plant General Manager, Operations, Production, and Purchasing teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or in a directly related field or two additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Minimum 5 years of directly relevant work experience in accounting or finance.

• Member of an accounting professional body VACPA, CPA or ACCA

• Diverse experience including national or large regional public accounting firm and combination of plant level and corporate finance preferred.

• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and VAS accounting standards and regulations plus excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (close, reporting, etc.) 

• Prior experience working in a Company located in a bonded zone is preferred. 

• Hands on manufacturing industry experience is preferred. 

• SAP experience is preferred. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint

• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.

• Ability to work collaboratively in matrix organization to maximize performance, problem solve and deliver results.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with senior leadership team

• Must be able to read and speak in Vietnamese and English in order to read various statements, letters, and enable appropriate communications.

• International travel to WHQ 5-10%
