What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for building and implementing plans for local internal and external communications, philanthropy and community affairs to drive Amgen’s reputation in the new location. Internally, you will build a culture consistent with Amgen Values and to ensure staff are informed, aligned and engaged with company priorities. Externally you will drive Amgen’s reputation with a particular emphasis on raising Amgen’s profile as an employer of choice during a time of significant hiring.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the collaboration with country-specific stakeholders; Work with country HR leads to customize deployment toolkits and ensure effective implementation of these and provide guidance to functional / geographic leads on implementation of the new organization; validate all Change and Comms toolkit materials.
  • Accountable for effective communications; Coordinate effective sharing of the vision and case for change and support the transition change / communications activities by liaising with local Change Network and HR Leads.
  • Leading the Change & Communications strategy; Definition of ACCP identity and branding, key messaging and overall communication alignment with other global initiatives and validation of change and communications toolkits for internal and external communications.
  • Responsible for engaging respective stakeholder groups either directly or by effective mobilization of Change Network and coaching of Change Agents to drive effective stakeholder management.
  • Representing Amgen in the local community and executing a local philanthropy program; the Manager will assist leaders of the Capability Center with developing communications to all Amgen staff about the services provided by the Center.

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The action-oriented professional we seek has excellent interpersonal skills and is a strategic and creative thinker with these qualifications:

Education:
 

  • Master’s degree and 2 years of Business or Communications experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Business or Communications experience.
  • 5+ years of corporate communication experience, including internal communication and community relations.
  • Experience with biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare communications.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of transition lifecycle.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change.

Preferred knowledge:

  • Change management certification.
