We are currently seeking an ADABAS Database Administrator to join our Vista product team. This position can be based out of any Eaton U.S. facility. The position is eligible for a hybrid work setup. Position Overview: The ADABAS Database Administrator will be responsible to design and maintain ADABAS Databases to address business and technical requirements, leveraging standard IT processes, principles, and patterns. In this function you will: Administer/manage ADABAS databases and Software AG products for the Vista and Global Vista Application Provide subject matter expertise and lead Software AG platform-related system design, development, and implementation Work with resources across functions to deliver technology and platform solutions to meet customer requirements, providing solution options and highlighting operational or security risks Tune and configure Software AG technology products to meet customer and operational requirements Coordinate and regularly update technology, platform, and documentation to ensure operational health and security Monitor technology and platform to ensure required performance, availability, and capacity. Identifies gaps in monitoring and potential impact on service delivery. Continuously seek to efficiently manage and utilize technology and platform from Software AG and other relevant vendors Follow industry, organization, and ITIL best practices to maximize quality and efficiency Execute ITSM processes (Change, request, incident, problem management) on technical IT systems at the Project level. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 5 years of experience in ADABAS database administration is required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with upgrading and applying fixes to Software AG products including ADABAS, Natural and EntireX Minimum 10 years of experience in information technology is preferred Experience with the IBM z/OS mainframe platform Experience with supporting enterprise integration with EntireX using SOAP/XML or REST/JSON Experience with data replication using DPSync Oracle database experience, knowledge of Linux/Unix OS and PL/SQL procedures Experience with programming constructs and the Natural programming language Experience in using Predict and Natural Security Position Criteria: Excellent proficiency with the English language (written and verbal). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Willing to learn new technologies Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
