The goal of the internship is to (A) create an artificial corpus that enables joint research in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Text-To-Speech synthesizes (TTS) and (B) implement large scale neural network training.
Part (A) will require the successful candidate to follow data science best practices to generate and gather a very large number of labelled training samples.
The goal of the large scale neural network training in part (B) is to produce a robust and almost product grade state-of-the-art model. The complex training process should scale with the amount of data. A large number of training runs are expected. This internship has a focus on computer science. You will need to work with both Windows and Linux, using a set of tools including PyTorch on powerful multi-GPU servers.
Please note that students need to be enrolled during the whole period of employment in order to be eligible for the student internship project.
For this student position we are preferably looking for a student to join our team for a duration of 4-6 months.
Qualifications
- Studying towards a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence or similar discipline, also possible for PhD students
- Good working knowledge of algorithms and compute structures in deep learning and artificial neural networks especially inference
- Good working knowledge of speech audio and language processing techniques used in recognition classification identification and/or translation systems
- Good working knowledge of computer architecture and algorithm optimization
- Software programming skills Python are used in our group
