Supports software development and engineering of new artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning products and technologies for the enterprise through research, leading to new or improved software products. Researches technological trends and advancements, recommending strategic product enhancements to ensure product relevancy and support revenue growth. Collaborates with industry and academies, participates in industry standard definition, collaborates with product managers and technical groups to address important customer issues, and finds innovative solutions to difficult problems for midterm or longterm time frames. May research to define boundaries, create proof of concepts, or prototype new ideas.

Qualifications

This is a research position, so candidates should have a PhD in computer science or a closely related field by the time that they join Intel. We pay close attention to a candidate's publication record to see solid evidence of high-quality, impactful research. We require world-class expertise in some facet of data systems.

Minimum Requirements:
A candidate must be well versed in programming with C++. Modern systems are distributed with parallel nodes so multi-threading and distributed memory programming are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ultimately, we target data systems as cloud-native applications, hence experience with microservices, containers, and cloud infrastructures is important. We are working as a group to transition to the latest C++ standards so candidates should be familiar with C++20 and beyond. Programmers in the future will increasingly use high-level languages such as Python. Hence, an important part of this work is to understand how our data systems research maps onto the Python ecosystem.

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
