Job Description

The Parallel Computing Lab (PCL) in Intel Labs is seeking a researcher in the area of parallel computing research. PCL investigates emerging compute- and data-intensive applications in areas such as artificial intelligence, traditional high-performance computing, big data computing, computational biology, physical simulation, and large-scale optimization problems. We work in close collaboration with leading academic and industry co-travelers to understand the hardware and software architectural implications for Intel's parallel processing platforms. The researcher will be expected to focus on a specific project of mutual interest focusing on a target research problem in this space.

In this position, you will be responsible for implementing, researching, and prototyping new algorithms, architectures, and approaches. You will develop state-of-the-art software and hardware systems with the goal of integrating these systems in the open-source ecosystem and Intel's future product lines. You will identify and research promising technologies typically 3-5 years prior to product development. This requires an understanding of computer architecture, benchmarking, and parallel programming. You may also participate in the development of intellectual property, but it is not required.
