We are seeking a passionate and qualified Music Teacher with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) to join our school. Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery
Design, plan, and deliver engaging music lessons in line with the AP and A - Level Music course requirements for students across different age and ability groups.
Incorporate a variety of teaching methods, such as practical instrument playing, music theory instruction, listening analysis, and composition tasks, to cater to diverse learning styles.
Prepare students for AP and A - Level Music examinations, including conducting mock exams, providing exam - specific feedback, and developing effective revision strategies.
Student Development
Foster students' musical skills, including performance, composition, and aural skills, through individual and group coaching.
Organize and lead music - related extracurricular activities, such as school choirs, orchestras, music competitions, and workshops, to enhance students' practical experience and enthusiasm for music.
Provide one - on - one support and guidance to students, monitoring their progress, identifying areas for improvement, and setting personalized learning goals.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with other music teachers and subject staff to ensure a coordinated approach to music education within the school.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about students' progress, achievements, and areas needing support, through parent - teacher meetings, progress reports, and other appropriate channels.
Collaborate with external music institutions, guest musicians, and industry professionals to bring additional resources and opportunities to students, such as masterclasses and music - related field trips.
Resource and Innovation
Develop and update teaching resources, including lesson plans, worksheets, and audio - visual materials, to support effective delivery of the AP and A - Level Music curricula.

Requirements
Qualifications
Hold a PGCE or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in Music or a related field.
Possess a relevant degree in Music, such as a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, etc.
Have a strong understanding of the AP and A - Level Music course systems, including assessment criteria, syllabus content, and exam formats.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience in teaching music at the secondary school level, preferably with exposure to AP and A - Level Music courses.
Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, wind instruments) and the ability to teach instrumental skills to students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
