High School English Teacher Wanted at Shenzhen Middle School
Location: Luohu, Shenzhen
Position: High School English Teacher
About Us: Shenzhen Middle School, located in the vibrant Luohu district, is seeking a dedicated and passionate high school English teacher to join our team. Our school is nationally recognized for its reputation in sending some of the best scholars to top universities all over the world.
Responsibilities:
This vacancy will mostly have the candidate applying to teach high school English, although there may be opportunities for other subjects, including public speaking/debate. Our school allows students to follow one of two tracks; AP or A Level. Teachers familiar with one or both are preferred.
Candidate Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant fields (teaching certificate preferred) + TESOL
• At least 2 years teaching experience
• Ability to apply appropriate teaching pedagogy to evaluate students
• Candidates with professional qualifications and in-country experience in international programs preferred
• Familiarity with CollegeBoard
• Professional disposition and appearance
• Cultural awareness and knowledge of the Chinese education system
• Ability to coordinate classes with other instructors
In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for candidates with a proven track record of self-improvement, positive and constructive attitudes, and the desire to continue seeking professional development in a high-level international program. Only applicants from North America and the United Kingdom are currently being considered.
Work Schedule and Responsibilities:
• Teach assigned classes. 40 working hours per week in total: 20 office hours and 20 teaching hours.
• Prepare for class, grade homework, answer questions from students during office hours
• Help develop class-specific curriculum for the APP
Typical work days are Monday to Friday from 7:15am to 12:15pm then 1:00pm to 4:15pm. Classes are 45-minutes long. Average class size is 20-30 students.
Salary and Benefits:
• Work (Z) Visa sponsorship
• Salary packages start at 25,000 RMB
• Housing stipend of 5,000 RMB per month
• Yearly 10,000 RMB airfare reimbursement
• Paid vacation during all Chinese holidays
• Orientation training and access to ongoing professional development
• Performance-based increases upon contract renewal
