Job Description
Position: AP Spanish Language Teacher
- Location: Shanghai, China
- Student Age: 14-18 (US G9-12)
- Teaching Hours: 20*45-minute classes per week
- Curricula: In-House (CEFR) & AP
- Class Size (Non-AP): 16-20 students
- Class Size (AP): 5-10 students
- Start Date: August 2026
Representative Subject Assignment (all subjects are 5*45-minute classes each):
2*Spanish 1 (A1-A2)
1*Spanish 2 (B2)
1*AP Spanish Language and Culture
Requirements:
- Native speaker of Spanish or to have obtained a university degree in which the instructional language was Spanish.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in Spanish, Linguistics, or Education.
- Two or more years of high school Spanish teaching experience
- Teaching Licence/Qualification (e.g. US Teaching Certification, UK QTS, etc.)
- Certificate of non-criminal record
- Must provide two references (both phone number & institutional email address)
- Must be able to lead a student-centered, project-based curriculum of inquiry and reflection.
- Must already currently employed within Mainland China
- (Preferred) Experience teaching AP Spanish Language or Literature
- (Preferred) Master’s degree in Education or in a field relevant to this discipline.
- (Preferred) US teaching license/certification; UK QTS or similar certification.
Renumeration and Benefits:
- Total renumeration for the first contracted year: 24,000-32,000 before tax, inclusive of housing allowance.
- Fully paid vacation including summer, winter, and all national holidays.
- Annual flight reimbursement.
