General Job Description:
Our international school in the heart of Shanghai's Minhang District is looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable AP Economics Teacher to enrich our secondary school program. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering dynamic English-medium Economics lessons that cater to a diverse student body
- Developing and maintaining a rigorous AP Economics curriculum that meets international educational standards
- Collaborating with other subject leaders to foster interdisciplinary learning and support initiatives such as Model United Nations and business clubs
- Promoting the 4C skills – Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity – within the classroom and beyond
- Engaging in ongoing curriculum development, faculty meetings, and professional development to stay abreast of educational advancements
- Cultivating strong relationships with students and parents through consistent communication and participation in parent-teacher conferences
- Enriching the school's educational offerings by leading elective courses or clubs related to Economics and business studies
Requirements:
- Native English speaker
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field
- A recognized teaching qualification or equivalent experience in education
- Prior teaching experience at the high school level, with an AP or international curriculum background being a strong advantage
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, peers, and parents
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mind set
