Job Description

In the Cloud Services team, we are responsible for the success of VMware Cloud Services sales to both Enterprise, Commercial customers and Cloud Provider Partners across Asia Pacific. Our solutions include VMware Cloud Provider Program (VCPP) and VMware Cloud on AWS.

We are looking for a talented individual to join the team as a VCPP Solutions Engineer, focused on VMware's End User Computing Solutions (EUC) for Service Providers. The VCPP team's primary objective is to drive adoption of VMware Products, services and technologies into Service Provider accounts and provide expert guidance to Service Providers enabling them to go to market with VMware based cloud services. As a EUC VCPP SE, your primary responsibilities will be to provide thought leadership, roadmap and in-depth technical knowledge around VMware EUC solutions focused on Service Provider use cases. Other responsibilities include IP development and providing prescriptive mentorship to Cloud Providers and the community of APJ VCPP SEs. This will enable the Cloud Providers to sell public facing cloud services built on VMware Cloud solutions. As thy sell more of their services, it will in turn drive revenue through VMware product usage (subscription licensing).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with service provider technical product teams as a trusted advisor and assist in leading and handling cloud services with a focus on networks. This will include assisting in running initial product/solution proof-of-concepts and pilots.
  • Handling support requests (as needed) and promote participation in VMware beta programs.
  • Drive collaboration with VMware product Teams and SME’s to provide Service Provider product feedback which will help develop VMware's product roadmap.
  • Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of Cloud solutions, industry directions and trends with a focus on network use cases.
  • Maintain working knowledge of competitor products and services and how to position against them
  • Document standard methodologies & architectural references in designing and deploying VMware EUC solutions for Service Providers.
  • Lead pre-sales efforts for large scale VMware Horizon and Workspace ONE opportunities with Service Providers either via MSP or On Prem.
  • Work with BDMs and Operations to resolve any service provisioning or deployment issues as required.

Requirements:

  • Shown success and knowledge in developing and leading Service Provider Partners/Customers.
  • Proven track record in developing IP, being a thought leader and mentoring technical teams.
  • 10 - 15+ years of experience in technology related areas including:
    • Understanding of desktop and server operating systems software, performance and debugging tools and scripting and automation
    • Microsoft Domain Management, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory Services (AD).
    • Desktop Virtualization.
    • Microsoft Terminal Services, Citrix XenApp.
    • Hardware Image Management and Microsoft Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) Application Virtualization and Streaming technologies.
    • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP services, routing and remote protocols (VPN, WAN Optimization, Remote Logon).
    • Server and Endpoint Security experience (Symantec, McAfee, Checkpoint, Tanium, etc). Knowledge of the Windows environment, distribution technology, and end-user tools in an enterprise desktop environment or equivalent desktop experience.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop packaging, distribution and provisioning technologies.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of end point security, remediation, and imaging.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of mobile operating systems; IOS and Android.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of MAM and MDM technologies.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of server based virtualization.

  • Enthusiastic, self-starter with a trustworthy personality.
  • Excellent social, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • You are able work effectively in both independent and team setting.
  • Strong listening and question based selling skills. Able to uncover business challenges and develop a custom solution to meet those challenges.
  • You should be an accomplished presenter of sales and technical material to both small and large groups. The ability to present extemporaneously is desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications

He or She should have Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience.

VMware EUC certifications, Cisco networking certifications, Citrix, MSFT and AWS certification is a definite plus.
