Job Description

  • How Will You Make an Impact?

    This role is responsible for leading the transformation of business strategy into regionally relevant and inspiring marketing that creates customer value, revenue and growth for our Microarray Business Unit. This is done by driving regional marketing activities with efficient management and execution at local levels across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

    The role will partner with global market development to deliver campaigns that are region and territory/country applicable, partner with territory/country marketing teams to assist in regional adaptations, and drive the development/execution of campaign activities to develop our market presence and penetration.

    What will you do?

    Focus: Category/Business Management

  • Responsible for achieving financial and market success in the region and providing region-level line-of-sight visibility (local pulse) to global business and market development teams
  • Manage region market performance for portfolio in conjunction with territory marketing and sales leaders — ensure gap-to-close analysis and corrective actions as required.
  • Perform detailed analysis and routine reporting to Global Marketing on Region business performance (i.e. Region revenue, unit/solution actual sales to forecast, campaign implementation status, campaign results vs KPIs) so that appropriate actions can be planned. Recommend actions based on seasonality and competitive pressures, key partner performance and issues as appropriate.
  • Work with product management, pricing and sales leadership to optimize region pricing, work with territory marketing on annual price setting and “price get” for the region.
  • Plan and executes region and country level NPIs, price actions, rollovers, upgrades and obsolescence of existing products
  • Partner with Product Management and Global Marketing to develop and deliver sales training and support materials.

Focus: Region Segment Campaigns and New Product Launches

  • Develop strategic, multi-channel integrated marketing plans for Microarray Business unit, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, and staging and pacing of marketing tactical programs
  • Work closely with global and regional product market development teams to guide the development of messaging and creative content that conveys strong value propositions and clear advantages for our product offering
  • Find, nurture and maintain customer advocates and identify collaboration opportunities to drive content development; leverage partners to champion our solutions
  • Develop and execute engaging marketing campaigns to achieve measurable results for new and/or existing products
  • Collaborate and ensure alignment of marketing plans among Global Market Development, Product Management, Regional Market Development Partners, Commercial Leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Maintain campaign metrics dashboards to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities
  • Propose and execute on customer and market research programs to provide key market insights and actionable business outcomes
  • Maintain knowledge of the trends and competitive situation in academic, translational, and clinical research, biotech/pharma research, or other assigned markets
  • Partner with Product Management and Global Market Development to develop and deliver sales training and support materials

Metrics:

  • Consistent tracking and analysis of region campaign performance (including marketing revenue contribution and funnel generation)
  • Timely delivery of performance reporting
  • All campaigns executed on time and on strategy

How will you get here?

  • Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in science, marketing or business management.
  • Experience: 3- 5 years of marketing and sales experience in Life sciences sector. Successful track record of achieving results through and in collaboration with others. Proven market, customer, and competitor knowledge, as well as proficiency in development of marketing strategy and go-to-market activities. Proficient in understanding, analyzing and summarizing comprehensive and complex technical, market and research information/data. Excellent analytical, communications—both oral and written, and project management skills
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Product Microarray, Optional Sequencing and qPCR. Customer segment/Application: Academic/Translational Optional: Healthcare/Pharma
