Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for the seamless recording and tracking of daily receipts and collections, as well as cash applications for AR. This position also includes ensuring the timely uploads on e-invoicing platforms, and resolution of issues from the process, as well as to support the preparation of bank documents (e.g. letters of credit, bankers’ guarantees) for customers. He/she would also be responsible for the oversight of 2 supporting team members, who are part of the cash application and AR collections functions. This position requires accounts receivable and credit control and management experience, proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Principal Responsibilities

• Timely and seamless recording and tracking of daily receipts and collections from debtors
• Applying advances and collections against invoices daily
• Downloading of bank statements, remittance advices, and other supporting documents to obtain collections details
• Preparation and presentation of bank documents (e.g. LCs, BGs) for customers
• Ensuring timely uploads of invoices on customers’ e-invoicing platforms
• Initiatives to improve e-invoicing process and resolve issues
• Supporting AR reconciliations

• Supervise 2 supporting team members of collections and cash application function

• preparing monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
• preparing SAB104 for revenue recognition, and ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with policies in the proper accounting periods
• credit management
• sending Statement of Accounts to customers
• supporting various audits
• other ad-hoc duties as required and/or assigned

• Candidates should be preferably holding an Accounting qualification (diploma in accounting)
• General accounting knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel
• Meticulous, able to work independently, have good communication skills, be a good team player and most importantly willing to learn
