Job Summary As part of the Accounting & Finance group, the person will be responsible for Manage the escheatment process for the Electrical Sector North America. Research and resolve old outstanding accounts receivable items to comply with the states unclaimed property laws regarding the disposition of unclaimed/unused credit balances, cash and credit memos. In addition, he/she will foster a good customer relationship by providing timely customer support and problem resolution. Job Responsibilities Lead and monitor unclaimed property process for Electrical Americas. Provide monthly reporting and support audit requirements. Research and resolve old outstanding accounts receivable items to comply with the states unclaimed property laws regarding the disposition of unclaimed/unused credit balances, cash and credit memos. Offer support and guidance to team members in resolving any issues related to aged credits. Resolve tax related issues and assist in maintaining accurate records in Vertex. Drive continuous improvements in the Electrical sectors compliance with Eaton Corporations Escheatment policy. Develop extensive knowledge of the Unclaimed Property laws and regulations of United States Jurisdictions, territories, and Canadian Provinces. Research and review all customer refund request to determine the validity of the request. Coordinate Escheatment training for the ISSC. Ensure that proper documentation is being retained for future audits. Assist internal and external audit personnel with any requests related to Escheatment. Operates independently and proactively provides management with relevant updates on day-to-day issues. Assist with gathering data and processing basic financial entries related to Escheatment. Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Assist in maintenance of sales tax database and collection of updated information. Review for accuracy and submit monthly Unclaimed Property journal entries. Abide by Robinson-Pattman Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Cannons of Business Credit Ethics, and Eaton Ethics Policy at all times. Research and resolve cash application errors to assist in driving down past due invoices Act as liaison between Unclaimed Property and the GFSS cash application team. #LI-MA1 Qualifications Qualifications Preferred education level: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Years and area of experience required: 3 - 5 years prior AR / Finance & Credit and Collection process experience, preferably in a large company or Shared Service Center. Technical knowledge: Technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheet software packages Excel. Sound working knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and local statutory requirements. Understanding of global business issues, including foreign currency impacts, effective hedging protocols and local customs and duty requirements. SAP & ORACLE is a plus. Soft skills: Superior analytical and thinking skills; Intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability. Solid communication and relationship building. Intermediate English or writing comunication. Strong Interpersonal Skills in order to communicate with customer.
