The Visual Arts departments at GSIS are looking to employ an Arts Technician to work in both the English and German Stream of the secondary school. The candidate will work across 3 classrooms helping teachers and students, preparing materials and documenting work.

We are looking for an arts specialist that can offer photography skills and is confident in using digital software such as Photoshop and video software. Any other art skills are welcome as this can only enhance the department, for example, STEAM related skills (e.g. laser cutter, 3D printer use), woodwork, framing work, etc.

Duties include

• Preparation of art materials for art lessons
• Photographing student work and organising these records
• Help put up art displays in the classroom and around the school
• Help with exhibition set up (2/3 times a year)
• Order materials and sometimes pick up materials
• Organisation of store room and art rooms
• Help with firing students’ clay work
• Supervision on arts excursions
• Helping with organisation of the Visual Arts website

What is required and what we’re looking for

• Graduate in Visual Arts or related field would be preferable
• Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient
• Positive, proactive and independent work ethic
