Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher to join our school in Shanghai. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment, supporting children’s academic, social, and emotional development, and working collaboratively with Chinese co-teachers and parents.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities based on the school’s curriculum framework
- Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Foster children’s holistic development, including language, literacy, numeracy, inquiry, and social-emotional skills
- Collaborate with Chinese co-teachers and teaching assistants to support daily classroom routines
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding student progress and development
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and community events

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Recognized teaching qualification/license (e.g., PGCE, state/provincial teaching license, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience with young learners, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting
- Native English speaker or equivalent proficiency
- Passionate about working with young children, with strong classroom management and communication skills
