We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join our Abbott Vascular Team.
This is an Auckland based role reporting to the Technical Support Manager.
This position is responsible for ensuring that our capital equipment performs properly and safely by performing site visits, installs, service calls for repairs, hardware and software upgrades, as well as preventative maintenance in order to meet the equipment standards.
To be successful in taking on this challenging and exciting role, applicants with technical experience in servicing and repairing biomedical equipment, consumer electronics, or equivalent equipment and who have knowledge of Therapeutic Device Regulation in ANZ should apply.
Core responsibilities include:
- System Installs
- Install new systems, demonstrations, rentals and loaner.
- Train bio-medical staff on preventive maintenance steps and basic troubleshooting per given guidelines
- Service Calls
- Perform necessary repairs or parts replacement based on Tech Support’s diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance work
- Software and Hardware Upgrade
- Remote Phone support
- Provide complete, accurate and regular service documentation and records
- Participate in required training arranged by Technical Support Manager
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Biomedical Engineering or equivalent in hardware or electronics engineering
- 3+ years field service experience working with medical systems; demonstrated knowledge of technical and repair skills in the field and in-house
- Ability to communicate effectively, including demonstrated ability to prepare written documentation in a regulated environment
- Confidence and high self-motivation to work autonomously effectively
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience with Service Max and SAP is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and manage your commitments efficiently
- Adaptability to work in a highly matrixed business with a geographically diverse business environment
- Impressive interpersonal skills and customer-centric focus with the ability to build and maintain solid relationships
Due to the inherent requirements of the role, the preferred candidate must provide evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination before the commencement date and maintain a fully vaccinated status for the period of employment.
