Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development and Implementation
Lead the development, review, and enhancement of the A-Level curriculum, ensuring alignment with Edexcel and CAIE standards.
Support the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies and foster interdisciplinary approaches to enhance the A-Level learning experience together with the school Global Impact Program (GIP) and the new Innovation Center .
Regularly assess the A-Level curriculum to respond to emerging educational trends and meet students' academic needs.
2. A-Level Program Oversight
Supervise the scheduling, resourcing, and academic delivery of A-Level courses across Grades 10-12.
Work closely with the Senior Vice Principal and department heads to ensure that A-Level programs meet academic expectations and student achievement goals.
Ensure that A-Level courses are integrated effectively with the school’s overall academic policies.
3. Faculty Leadership and Development
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of A-Level faculty.
Conduct performance evaluations for A-Level teachers, offering feedback and facilitating professional development programs.
Promote continuous improvement in teaching practices through targeted workshops and seminars for A-Level educators.
4. Student Achievement and Support
Analyze student performance data within the A-Level program to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to support underperforming students.
Support the implementation of tutoring and intervention programs for students needing additional academic assistance.
Support differentiated learning needs within the A-Level cohort, ensuring all students are provided the necessary academic resources.
5. A-Level Policy and Compliance
Ensure the A-Level program complies with all relevant international standards, including Cognia accreditation and Edexcel/CAIE guidelines.
Develop and review academic policies specific to the A-Level program to maintain high standards.
Stay current with regulatory changes and best practices in A-Level education.
6. Assessment and Evaluation
Oversee the administration of A-Level exams, internal assessments, and other standardized tests.
Analyze assessment data to adjust instructional methods, curriculum content, and support strategies to improve student outcomes.
Coordinate with Edexcel and CAIE to ensure compliance with examination and assessment regulations.
7. Strategic Planning and Administration
Contribute to the development and execution of the school’s strategic plan, particularly as it relates to academic offerings and student outcomes in the A-Level program.
Assist with budget management, resource allocation, and identifying facility needs specific to the A-Level program.
8. Student and Community Engagement
Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the community to enhance the overall A-Level program experience.
Address student behavioral issues and disciplinary matters in coordination with the student affairs team, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
9. Admission Support
Support the admissions team by reviewing and refining A-Level admission criteria and ensuring alignment with the school’s academic goals.
Engage with prospective students and their families, providing information about the A-Level program’s offerings and benefits.
Assist in the development of admission materials, including brochures and online content, that accurately reflect the A-Level program.
10. Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with international education standards and local regulatory requirements.
Prepare reports on the effectiveness of the A-Level program, including student performance and overall academic success, for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications and Skills:
Master’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.
Significant experience in teaching and/or managing A-Level programs in secondary education for at least 5 years.
Expertise in Edexcel and/or CAIE A-Level curriculum and assessment practices.
Proven leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working in a multicultural environment.
