Job Description
We are looking for an experienced team leader to oversee our English Department and lead the ongoing development of the teachers and the department. The successful candidate will work with different stakeholders and drive the growth of the Center.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for continuous improvement and development of the Centre
- Ensure responsive and effective management of teachers, provide regular teachers’ training and drive the development and performance of the team
- Assist in teachers recruitment and retention, including partaking in interviews and career fairs
- Ensure high quality curriculum and course content, and drive high standards of achievement for all students
- Work with other departments to promote courses and develop strategies to drive business growth of the English Department
- Lead the development projects of teaching materials and publications, keep track of changes to syllabi and standardized tests, and ensure teachers stay up-to-date with the most effective approaches to teaching students
- Develop strong and effective relations with counterparts and facilitate smooth communication with other departments
- Facilitate effective and smooth communication between management and teachers in order to ensure all policies and goals are met
- Provide regular reports for performance review by senior management
- Initiate and implement projects based on the direction and business of the Center
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in English or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of teaching experience, management role preferably in education institutions
- Sound knowledge in international tests and syllabi
- Thorough understanding of latest international tests and curriculum development
- Strong commitment to student learning and well-being
- Considerable business mindset to develop the growth of the Center
- Strong leadership skills with a passion to motivate the team and encourage personal development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey the Center’s policy and direction
- Positive can-do approach to work under pressure and tight deadlines
