Position Overview The position of Account Executive for Energy Performance Solutions (EPS) will be part of the Smart Infrastructure Regional Solutions and Services (RSS) of Siemens Americas. This role will lead and grow the EPS business in California while focusing on the Higher Education and K-12 market segment. The Account Executive will identify market needs and develop sales strategies and customer solutions to gain client commitment to help improve their facilities, operations, sustainability and profitability. The EPS group is a technology, services and solutions integrator, working with numerous Siemens product businesses, to sell and deliver value-based building retrofit, performance contracting, energy services, and distributed and renewable energy systems projects. EPS, working in collaboration with Siemens Financial Services and other partners, offers a variety of alternative financing and contracting solutions. EPS works in collaboration with our RSS sales and service “branch” offices, which offer a variety of automation, fire, security, and energy services and solutions, and also has a significant education customer base in CA and nationally. This Account Executive is an Individual Contributor role, with no direct reports; however, the position requires leadership and collaboration will all levels of management, branches and the EPS team in support of sales, project development and implementation activities. Responsibilities Under limited supervision, the Account Executive will manage and grow the EPS business in the Higher Education and K-12 market through developing and maintaining executive C-suite and facilities leadership level relationships, and by value-selling solutions and services to decision makers. Additional expectations include: sales funnel development through early identification and qualification of sales leads with cross-divisional sales teams; consultatively assisting targeted clients in understanding financial business goals, while uncovering challenges and defining long-term infrastructure and associated financing/funding solutions; thoroughly understanding the complex challenges faced by Higher Education customers; selling solutions as well as the value associated with Siemens partnership; managing customer relationships, including through project development and implementation phases. Additional desirable attributes for Account Executive include: works well with internal and external teams such as operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed to acquire client commitment; team-sells with other salespeople when appropriate and mutually beneficial; follows through on sold projects to ensure expected customer outcomes; participates in Higher Education trade associations and professional organizations, workshops and seminars; applying consultative selling that incorporates market drivers, business objectives, budgets, financing and operations as they relate to value propositions; maintain, report and be accountable for the internal sales process; and effectively completes needs assessments, financial justifications, and related proposals and presentations. Required Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience Five or more years of executive consultative selling experience providing sophisticated solutions to MUSH clients with priority given to Higher Education experience. Experience with distributed energy solutions: microgrids, solar, battery storage, and other forms of onsite generation. Versed in financial transactions related to energy (PPA’s), utilities and/or infrastructure projects. Bachelor's degree (or higher) preferred, or equivalent proven industry experience may be considered Familiarity with incentive program to bolster clean energy: CA SGIP, microgrid incentive programs, etc The following are considered a plus Experience working for or with Higher Education Expertise in the energy industry, including distributed and renewable energy Experience with energy savings performance contracting Experience with Project and Energy Finance Familiarity with energy-related financing programs Familiarity with CA energy markets Up to 30% travel may be required Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing. Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan. Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
