Job Description
The Role
As an account manager, you will lead our sales effort at some major academic and industry accounts in Xi’an and Lanzhou. You must be able to find and close opportunities, while also building trusting relationships at multiple levels within an account and developing a clear understanding of a client’s business needs. Building a strong internal network will be key to your success in this role, influencing experts and decision makers at NI to play roles on your account teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and executing account development initiatives to generate demand in identified areas of greatest opportunity
  • Consulting with customer engineers and leaders to understand and address their technical and business requirements with the best NI systems and services that meet their needs
  • Managing and closing sales opportunities discovered as a result of account initiatives through collaborations with partners and internal NI resources
  • Networking and discovery within assigned accounts to engage with new groups, create and sustain valued relationships with customer leadership, and identify new qualified sales opportunities
  • Building a clear picture of potential at the accounts to drive good decisions on priorities within NI

Key Performance Objectives
  • Consistently meets sales objective goals to achieve sales quota
  • Manage opportunities pipeline to set focus and priority
  • Provide accurate forecast based on accounts/industry insight to prioritize activities
  • Up to date account plan for further cross-functional account penetration
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years proven experience in field sales in academic or communications industry
  • Bachelor or Master degree with engineering major
  • Fluent in professional English
  • Ability to live and work in Xi’an
  • Proven ability to shape and lead collaborative, cross-functional teams, engaging the right people to support the account strategy
  • Ability to develop & maintain director-level leadership level relationships both internally and externally
  • Experience in developing profitable indirect channel delivery models
  • Ability to influence a customer’s organization by guiding the customer to prioritize initiatives, and address challenges, that align to unique NI strengths
  • History of positively impacting customers business objectives

Preferred Qualifications
  • Existing relationship with key decision makers at the customer accounts
  • Knowledge of / Credibility with academic teaching applications
  • Knowledge of / Credibility with academic/scientific research applications
  • Knowledge of / Credibility with semiconductor testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of / Credibility with communications applications
  • Knowledge of / Credibility with ADAS HiL testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of / Credibility with academic/semiconductior/automotive trends
