Job Title: Account Manager
Report to: China Sales Manager
Business Unit: DSM Coating Resins
Location: Shanghai
The Challenge:
  • Execute the Prospect to Order process in DSM-ECR East/North/Central China region.
  • Develop, implement and realize the account strategy and plan, within the sales strategy and plan and corporate requirements and guidelines, to ensure the realization of planned business results and long-term customer relationship objectives are achieved.
The Position:
  • To set up, coordinate & execute specific Accounts tactics & plans to realize pre-defined/agreed sales and overall customer relationship objectives, both for the short- and long term
  • Define and implement a strategic account plan. Translate into Financial profitability and goals and be accountable for top line profit
  • Contribute to develop the sales plan.
  • Distributor management. Coach and manage distributors to make long term/short term sales plan and evaluate the performance of distributors in East/North/Central China.
  • Build sustainable relationship in the defined accounts by both direct contact (i.e. Business Director and President) and by positioning key stakeholders to the right level in the account to speed up development and removing the block to speed up the business.
  • Identify long term business opportunities with the account(s) and include these in the account strategy and plan. Working as plastic coordinator to lead ECR plastic projects (existing/new), cooperate with TS and RD to build fast process to finish customer requirements.
  • Define and Implement projects with focus on key products, processes and innovation.
  • Monitor and benchmark competitive products, market requirements and competitive business strategies (competitive profiling) and incorporate benchmarking and competitive profiling in account and sales plans
  • Lead contract and price negotiations with the respective account(s) and ensure the conclusion of sales contracts and price levels within the agreed price volume targets.
  • Coordinate technical service or after sales service activities towards the account
  • Monitor the complaint process and ensure an appropriate complaint settlement with the account within the agreed timeline
  • Monitor the account’s payment behavior and take action to ensure payment within the agreed payment terms
  • Follow the business vision of DSM-ECR, contribute to develop the account strategy and sales plan(s) of the DSM-ECR.
  • Execute the job within the applicable QESH structure and system.
  • Comply with company SHE, Security policy and all procedures.
The Ideal:
  • University above graduated with major in chemical or Business Administration related field.
  • At least over 5 years as sales/marketing in chemistry or Chemical industry and Multi-national is preferred.
  • Sales experience in chemical products with strong market and chemistry knowledge will be plus. Sales/Marketing/technical experience in UV coating/ink products will be much preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills
  • Excellent coordination and communication skill, with teamwork spirit.
  • New business development and project management skill will be plus.
  • Good command of English in speaking and writing.
  • Good organization and prioritizations skills are needed to handle multiple, overlapping tasks
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
