The role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Thermo Fisher Scientific for a  Consumables Sales Representative to manage the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton and DSTL.
As a Consumable Sales Representative you are responsible for driving growth in our consumable portfolio, protein, cell and molecular biology (Invitrogen, Gibco & Applied Biosystems). This will also include selected equipment relating to the consumables portfolio to include end point PCR Equipment, Fluorescent microscopes and Flow Cytometers and various other small benchtop laboratory equipment.
This role requires an individual with a proven track record in sales and a deep technical understanding combined with the ability to empathise and resolve customer issues.
 
 
Key responsibilities:

  • Increase & generate sales to customers via onsite visits following up with calls and email correspondence
  • Participate in sales training programs as presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills.
  • Develop, write, and execute a strategic business plan for managing assigned territory annually, updated quarterly
  • Working with Marketing and/or Technical Sales Specialist for supply agreements and contracts
  • Set up and coordinate technical seminars & host and assist with product shows on a bi annual and annual basis
  • Maintain and increase current customer database through Company customer relations management software (Siebel CRM).
  • Communicate key competitive activities, trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which includes emerging customers
 
We are looking for someone who has:
 
  • BSc in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry (PhD preferred) or the equivalent knowledge
  • Sales experience In-depth knowledge of Cell Culture and Molecular Biology
  • Experience of IVGN and ABI products
  • Experience of working within a lab and life science consumables associated
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
