- Day to Day Responsibilities
1. Assist account manager with technical aspects of customer relationships
• Negotiate external product specifications.
• Gain specification agreement with customers buying products
• Organize internal response to product quality disagreements with customers and represent the outcome to the customer.
• New Projects/product deployment in both OEM, TPM and Finishers
2. Provide the customer technical interface between Corning and assigned customers
• Act as point of contact for customers’ technical information requests.
• Provide technical assistance to the customers’ manufacturing and sales operations.
• Identify new product and application opportunities for Corning products at customers or otherwise in the field and report them back internally for assessment and development.
• Prepare and maintain technical and product related training presentations to assist customers.
3. Represent the customer perspective on internal projects
• Represent department and customers on internal projects
• Provide training as required (inside and outside the department) for assigned areas of technical specialty"
- Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Materials Science degrees preferred.
• At least three years’ work experience. Experience in glass technology, display industry and OEM experience is preferred."
Desired Skills:
• Good communication skills in both Chinese and English
• Knowledge of material science, mechanical, chemically strengthened (ion exchanged) technology and Consumer Electronics cover glass applications
• Ability to apply technical knowledge to solve customer problems. Ability to “think ahead”, using judgment to anticipate outcomes for different technical scenarios.
Soft Skills:
• Ability to effectively organize, participate in and lead cross-functional and diverse teams.
• Ability to gain trust and cooperation from a diverse set of internal colleagues and external customers.
• Comfort in a changing work environment. Flexible to accept unanticipated assignments and work changes.
