Eaton Mission Systems, formally Cobham Mission Systems, is seeking an Accountant at our growing Davenport, Iowa facility. This is a Hybrid-Remote role, Sponsorship is not available. Position Overview: This individual will handle a wide variety of accounting responsibilities focusing on payroll and general ledger activities. In this function you will: Analyze, audit, reconcile and resolve payroll processing issues of moderate complexity to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing. Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations. Work with system programmers to achieve solutions to address problems or improve payroll processing. Perform account analysis and reconciliation of various accounts and prepare financial reports. Respond to inquiries from employees regarding deductions, calculations, and changes in compensation. Review time keeping records and process exception items requiring special handling. Perform a variety of statistical tasks and clerical duties required to prepare payroll data for computer input. Respond to regulatory inquiries and participate in and assist with internal/external audits. Perform complex accounting tasks in general or specialized accounting functions. Ensure that intercompany billings are completed accurately and timely. Assist in the development and installation of accounting systems, methods, procedures, and controls. Complete month-end close responsibilities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist in budgeting for accounts and forecast/budget elements of the balance sheet. Assist with other related duties as assigned. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee. No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius of the Davenport, IA facility will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Oracle E-Business Suite.
